Pope Francis is visiting Africa later today amid serious security concerns in the wake of the terror attacks in Paris and the one that was foiled in Belgium.
This will be Pope Francis first visit to Africa. His stops include, Kenya,Uganda and Malawi.
Most people are puzzled that the Pontiff is avoiding what used to be the lodesters of the continent. Nigeria and South Africa.
Both countries used to be awed by the height of their aspiration but measured by the depth of their failures.
Nigeria for instance has too many problems on its hands to be able to host the Pope. And for South Africa,the glory days are gone.
