Nigeria Goes After Fake Bank Accounts

Nigeria government has launched a major crack down on Fake bank accounts.
This was one of the reasons for Banks Verification Numbers, BVN.

The move, according to the CBN is to check fraudulent accounts. Millions of Nigerians hold multiple accounts under different names,saId Ibrahim Muazu,spokesman for CBN.

"The measure has been going on for two years, but as at Friday, only 52mIllion people have complied"

As the deadline expired on Friday, October 30, people were made to queue with ID cards to prove the own the accounts.
