A: That nothing will really change except that they'd be poorer
B: That the Naira would die even as Buhari was promising to make the currency equal to the dollar.
C : That government contracts are gone. That companies will lay off a lot of people not because they want to but because they won't be able to afford them.
D: That the following businesses will do well:
Cheap alcohol,Food, Drugs and Hospitals, Church and Transportation.
Phone repairers,in fact repairers of any kind.
Alcohol and Church would serve the same purpose, I told them .Both would offer hope and obliterate unpleasant reality. If only for the moment.
Hospitals and drugs because people will break down from stress.
Repairers because only few people would unwisely buy new things.
Food because you must eat.

"Why are you saying all this nonsense"?
Most of them asked.
"Because oil prices are falling and it will remain that way for a long time"
"What has that got to do with Nigeria"? "I am employed"
Then I replied"It's got everything to do with Nigeria,Oil is your lifeblood and it's no longer selling"
Because I was coming across as too dark and gloomy, I refused to shatter their illusion that wrestling was acting. How do you do that to a people who believe there are non-alcoholic wines ? That'll look Like finding out that Santa Claus is"even Uncle Caleb"
People who call fork, fek.Who don't eat swallow, not a bird. They mean all their staples,Eba,Fufu,Ema,Tuo, etc. But eat spaghetti, and noodles. Perhaps they don't swallow Shawama that they ignorantly devour as long as a man is paying for it...
A people whose once Deceiver in Chief called himself "an evil genius" and the Nigerian press awarded Babangida their own version of the Nobel Prize.
A people whose hordes of Bishops sing" unquestionable, you are the lord"And Pastor Vice President Osibanj
(Professor) can't point out that the attribute is an adverb."Unquestionably".
People who wear bulging wallets in their hands just so their neighbors will see how much worthless Naira they carry with them.
Children whose parents pay for their "Yahoo lesson" as opposed to basic computer classes.
A people who "reject" clear and impending danger "in Jesus name" and blame "Satan" later, if they survive the ordeal
And here we are, 9 months later .The ship has sailed ,leaving Nigeria behind
