Your Body and Fashion

Fashion is perhaps one of the most spoken word in today’s society. The rush to get the latest apple tech or the very recent iphone has become the norm of the day. With the consumer accustomed to the visual way of life, marketers have not taken a back seat either. In fact, the rate at which products are being flashed on your face whenever you visit any website could probably surpass the number of times you get photographed on the streets of London. Yet this has made life much easier for consumers. It only takes just a click.

However as much as looking chic can be a flattering thing, not all fashionables are suitable for you. Do not get me wrong here, I am not against trendy clothes whatsoever, as a matter of fact I find myself, most of the time boarding the ‘Must Haves of This Season’ flight. What I am simply trying to put across is this; every woman should know her body type well.
Have you ever bumped into a lady, very pretty she would pass for miss world, but what she is putting on would hurt your eyes? Many of us are so guilty of too many fashion crimes. Before you decide to buy that chic dress, my dear, it is essential that you assess your body objectively; identify your trouble spots as well as your best spots. Then get cuts and fabrics that mask what needs to be masked and accentuate what needs to be accentuated. For example, if you are short, get something that elongates you and takes away attention from your height. In other words get a fashion style that downplays your negatives and that which compliments your overall body.
As it is, different colors have different influences on people’s perception. According to medical scientists color influences people’s hormones, blood pressure and even body temperature. On the other hand, it is also said that color has an impact on your body type, weight, personality and emotions. For example, they say that:
  • Blue- based reds portrays Intelligence and femininity. This is great for business meetings and gatherings geared towards empowering women.
  • Yellow- based reds bring out an energy that keeps conversations going. This is a great color for a first date.
  • Purple is known to stir the sense and generates passion. A great color for creative endeavors
  • Turquoise puts other women at ease, encourages them to open up.
  • Lipstick red implies strength and authority. A fantastic color for business meetings.
  • Medium blue is a calming color that allows smooth interactions.
  • Brown is a non-threatening, stable, supportive and reliable. This is a great for meeting with colleagues or clients in a social gathering.
Thus it is important to remember that color messages flashed out by our clothes have immediate and long-lasting impression on our viewers. It is therefore essential to choose an appropriate color for an occasion, location and most of all, one that compliments our natural coloring.
Knowing how to use color to your advantage will not only transform the way you dress but also boost your confidence a level higher.
Once you get to understand these two things it is much easier to get it right. You will be able to find a fashion sense that makes sense to your individuality. A fashion sense that reflects who you are and what you are about.
