As the Nigeria strike enter its fifth day there is still no sign of it slowing down as Labour, Governors Forum and FG holding meeting has not come to a reasonable conclusion. Labour says N90 whilst FG insists N120. But even when they revert to these prices, what about insecurity, unemployment, and corruption in Government.
Removal of subsidy will now be in phases with pump prices going to N90 now, N120 in June and N140 in October 2012.
However, the NLC demands on the burial of the slain protesters included compensation too. NLC demanding that FG cover funeral expenses for Ademola Aderinde, Muyideen Mustafa & others killed at hands of police during protest.
We have not ended discussions. It was fruitful. We will conclude on Saturday. Strike continues - NLC.
Will NLC sell out? Hopefully not. Will it stop the protests if the demands are not met? Not likely. Who decides? You and I.
