Google has announced the launch of YouTube in Nigeria further increasing its interest in the country. Some few months ago google trader the online listing site was also launched which allow people to list their product for free.
Youtube has in the last few years been known for product launch like musical videos,movies and the most popular Apple.
Youtube is the place where anyone with a video camera and an Internet connection can share their life, art and voice with the world and google launching it in Nigeria will showcasing the best and brightest local talent.
YouTube Nigeria will now offer some of the most informative and entertaining video content from around the world through a local interface, www.youtube.com.ng, that promotes content that is most relevant to Nigerians. The good thing about this is that Nigerians now have greater flexibility to tell their stories, and find videos most useful to them.
From amateur to professional content, from the unexpected to the emotionally affecting, the educational to the entertaining, At the YouTube launch event in Lagos today, Google country manager Juliet Ehimuan welcomed Patrick Walker, YouTube’s senior director, Content Partnerships, for Europe, Middle East and Africa. “With over 3 billion views a day, YouTube is the world’s largest audience, and a mode of communication that allows everyone’s voice to be heard”, said Walker.
Nigeria now joins Egypt, Tunisia, South Africa and Kenya as African countries having Youtube versions. The first African version of Youtube was launched in South Africa in May 2010.
